SO IT GOES - AND SO IT WENT

Roskilde week is over, rucksacks are being replaced with suitcases as the NOT community takes a break and some hard earned chill-out time in various hidey-holes around the world. BUT before everyone disappears heres a big funky THANKYOU BOMB and its about to explode.

The Setting Son at Not Appearing Festival 2009

First of all a THANKYOU royale with cheese to The Setting Son, Julie Bo, Darling Don't Dance,The Rayguns and DJ Chip Kid for appearing at the very first NOT APPEARING FESTIVAL on board the good ship Stubnitz. And a deep heartfelt THANKYOU to Mads and Jakob from Jazz Club LOCO for believing in NOT and making the whole festival thing possible. We had a great night, the music was of the highest quality, from first till last everyone played up a storm. It proved to be harder than we thought to get the Roskilde crowd to jump ship for a night, especially with all that sun, but about 150 NOT guests did turn up and a big THANKYOU to every single one of you. Not least the Buddy Holly guy with the bow tie and his mate who we had a blast chatting with at the end of the night. NOT APPEARING FESTIVAL will be back believe me, so please use the "sign up" function in the right hand corner so we can keep you all informed.

A special THANKYOU goes out to the sun, for saving Roskilde Festival from falling on it's arse with the weakest line up in years, we just hope that they realise how lucky they were.

And obviously a THANKYOU to Roskilde Festival, because even this year, when the whole oranization seemed to be in denial about being ROCK festival at all, there was still a handfull of great contemporary acts on the program, exciting new bands like The Soft Pack, St. Vincent, Cola Freaks, Marnie Stern, Fleet Foxes, Baddies, Friendly Fires, The Dodos, Deerhoof, Soil and Pimp and quite a few others... and we take heart at Rikke Øxners comment in the Politiken iBYEN question and answer session today... "ja det er hele hjertet af Roskilde at finde alt det nye. Og jeg kender godt notappearing.org, ..." THANKYOU for that Rikke!

Speaking of Politiken we'd like to add a special THANKYOU to Mr. Erik Jensen for a fireing a mean warning shot over the heads of the Roskilde Organization in Politiken Monday 6th. Heres a snippet: "Det er værd at overveje, når man tænker tilbage på fantastiske festivaldage under den smukkest tænkelige projektør, solen. Som også havde den hørte venlighed at sørge for, at selv aftenerne og nætterne var lune på dette års, fredelige og rare, version af Roskilde. Når forholdene er sådan, betyder det lidt mindre, at arrangørerne igen havde lagt et program, der var mere præget af tåbeligheder, arrogance og magtfuldkommenhed end imødekommende indsigt." and a big THANKYOU to YOU for visting us here at notappearing.org. We are currently working on a lot of new stuff for the site, for a smoother, more pleasurable NOT experience. Band presentations, links, pictures, and hopefully some funky interactivity with you folks out there in the land of NOT... but thats all in the pipeline, right now it's holiday time and we're off tripping.
